Book review: Let go mom, I will be fine by Shivi Dua

Beautiful book. This is the the third time I was reading this amazingly simple and profound book written by Shivi Dua. This book tells us, with the help of real life situations and examples, how we often misunderstand our role as a parent in our parenting journey.

The author of many amazing books, Shivi Dua explains that even if the child has come to this world through the parent, the parent never owns the child. Parents are only the facilitators in the journey of the child. Shivi also explains how a parent is also born along with a child and go through an intense journey of learnings through the child. It’s a mutual process of learning and growing with each other.

Shivi talks about her own experiences as a mother, and explains the misconceptions and pressures of motherhood in a very profound way.

I could relate to almost all the examples and realised how every year when i revisit the book, the same book provides me a different insight since I can relate it to my current parenting issues and concerns.

This book also helped me understand my journey as a child along with my parents. It has helped me resolve many issues with my parents where I had blames on their parenting.

Amazing read for everyone out there who is a parent, will someday be a parent and is a child to someone.
