Book review: Aleph by Paulo Coelho
I was attracted to the word ‘Aleph’ and that’s the reason why I picked this book. I kept it on my bedside for almost 3 months but couldn’t read a single page. Strangely, the book kept calling me and when I finally started reading, I almost read it in one go.
As per Coelho, “the Aleph is an encounter with our fears and shortcomings – a search for love and forgiveness and the courage to confront the inevitable challenges of life.”
This story of Paulo takes readers on an adventurous journey that spans all 9,288 kilometers of the Trans-Siberian railroad from Moscow to Vladivostok, and a parallel mystical journey that transports its narrator through space and time. The author decides to travel the longest railroad across Asia and through his adventures, experiences and discussions with fellow travellers, he explains the concept of journey vs. destination, the ever happening evolution, subconscious, significance of dreams & past lives and their impact on our ‘now’. The book very beautifully explains the concept of parallel worlds and realms. Finally the book leaves the readers with profound insight on ‘unconditional love’.
A very challenging, calming and interesting read.
